Tuition Savings Disclosure

The “Imagine Getting Two Years of Free Tuition” statement reflects the estimated savings available to eligible students through the University of Northern Iowa’s Neighboring State Rate and does not represent two academic years of tuition at no cost. Rather than paying the standard nonresident tuition rate, eligible undergraduate students from Iowa’s neighboring states are assessed the resident tuition rate. Over four years, the difference between resident and nonresident tuition is comparable to the cost of approximately two years of resident tuition.

Eligibility is limited to qualifying undergraduate students who meet the requirements of UNI’s Neighboring State Rate program. Tuition rates are subject to change, and actual savings may vary based on enrollment status, program of study, tuition and fee changes, and time to degree completion. The Neighboring State Rate has no cash value and is not a scholarship or tuition waiver.
